XEMICS SA has launched the XE8000Prostart kit, a comprehensive tool that
enables users to program and effectively evaluate XE8000 microcontrollers
performance under an application's constraints. The kit includes the necessary
hardware and a number of software development tools including a C-compiler, a
Simulator, a Source level debugger, a Profiler and an integrated graphical
environment.
XE8000 Series
This series of microcontrollers is one of the very few of its kind to consume extremely low power and at the same time, require little
or practically no external components as it has complete mixed-signal peripherals, including the award winning 16+6 bits ZoomingADC. This is good news for the user as they can build extremely compact battery powered appliances around it.
XE8000Prostart
The ProStart comes in four different adaptations, one for each of the XE8000 processor models. Applying the ProStart is the ideal
way to integrate the XEMICS' XE8000 ultra low power microcontrollers into your application. The ProStart includes the printed
boards with a zero-insertion-force socket, documentation, the CoolRIDE CD-ROM software and 3 processor samples with
embedded multiple time programmable Flash memory.
CoolRIDE Software
The XE8000 ProStart is directly under control of the
CoolRIDE integrated development environment software. This software incorporates
a group of integrated development tools that are viewed through a unified
graphic user interface (GUI). The tools include C Compiler, Source Level
Debugger + Simulator and Profiler, as well as the regular Assembler and Linker.
Individually each of these tools offers a set of value-added qualities,
typically, the Profiler, which allows users to monitor their current consumption
and memory usage whilst the software executes is of great help to optimize
energy usage. In this way it is quite unmatched by other competitors in the
industry. In addition, the C Compiler is supporting the ANSI-C standard code.
C-programming significantly reduces the application's development time enabling
the user to rapidly integrate its application onto the microcontroller and to
shorten its time-to-market. The XE8000 ProStart and CoolRIDE development tools
are available through XEMICS world-wide network of distributors (please consult
the web site for a full list www.xemics.com or call our sales
department).
